Ankie Barnes to Speak on “The Architecture of Delight”

I am honored to be speaking next week at the Washington Design Center’s annual Market Day on March 3. My talk, “The Architecture of Delight: Built projects from the Potomac to Provence,” is accompanied by photographs illustrating a wide range of our work, such as this DC home that overlooks the Potomac River:

We design to build our clients’ dreams, and we want them to love the result. Livability, comfort, proportion and scale, natural light, context, and building to last all have their place in this search for built beauty. So does the collaboration with interior designers, landscape architects and builders.

Join me on this short trip looking at these ideas as seen in houses from the Potomac riverfront to the south of France. The lecture will be held at 1 pm at the Doris Leslie Blau Showroom, Suite 325 at The Washington Design Center, 1099 14th Street, N.W. There is parking under the building on L Street.
