This Salt Lake City family wanted a decidedly un-Western home on their property, which offers grand views of the Rocky Mountains and has a stream running through it.
We are designing a Colonial Revival compound, which includes a large guest house, a three-car garage with a children’s play room above, a pool and cabana area, sports court, and an outbuilding to store the family boat. A breezeway connecting the garage to the guesthouse will cross the stream, and its glass floor will make the water visible under one’s feet.
A grand foyer, meanwhile, will feature windows looking out toward the Rockies that loom in front, while the sloping property in back offers plenty of forested privacy.
The project is in permitting, and construction is expected to begin in late 2015.
