Alina Del Castillo
Alina has been with BarnesVanze since 2014 and works primarily on residential projects. Coming from a long line of architects on both sides of her family, she came by her profession naturally, but in her own fashion. Alina’s undergraduate major at Washington University in St. Louis was in the Performing Arts with a minor in Physics. After returning to her hometown of Rockville, Maryland, she attended Catholic University for Master’s degrees in Architecture (M. Arch) and Sustainable Design (MSSD). Bringing her passion for building green to BVA, Alina stays on top of changing technologies and regulations and serves as a pipeline of current information for her clients and colleagues. She is motivated daily by the collaborative atmosphere of the BVA community and finds contributing to designs that meet both needs and aspirations extremely rewarding. Because her love of green building is rooted in a love of nature, when not in the studio or on the job site Alina is often doing something that takes her outdoors, from camping and hiking to working in her garden. She is a member of USGBC-NCR and ICAA.
