ANDWELE C.E. WORRELL, AIA, NCARB
Licenses held: MD
Andwele grew up on the West Coast of Barbados overlooking the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. The spectacular villas and hotels he saw being built while traveling to school inspired his love for architecture, gardens, and beautiful places.
Studying Architecture and Urban Design at Andrews University in Michigan, he earned a Master of Architecture degree (M.arch) and was part of the team which won the 2008 Student Charter Award for the New Urbanism. Since moving to the DMV, Andwele has worked on numerous award-winning projects and has led design teams on a broad range of residential and institutional projects, both nationally and internationally. Additionally, he has completed a post-graduate program in real estate development at the University of Maryland.
Andwele enjoys collaborating with clients alongside professionals and craftsmen, on design and building teams. His goal is always to achieve win-win solutions that exceed expectations. Drawing on various architectural style and building traditions, he works to achieve buildings that enhance their surroundings, have timeless qualities, and meet both owners’ current needs and their ambitions.
Enriching the community is important to Andwele. He currently serves on the advisory council at the School of Architecture and Interior Design at Andrews University and enjoys serving as a guest critic and participating in career days.
