Erich Stanley RA, NCARB

Originally from Columbus, Indiana, Erich grew up surrounded by a remarkable collection of modern, mid-century architecture and public art. He was greatly affected by the notion that great design can improve the human condition. Erich completed five years of architectural studies at the University of Notre Dame during which he participated in the yearlong Rome Studies Program and completed his own grand tour of Europe. Vernacular and classical traditions inspire him with their authenticity and sustainability. For nearly two decades, he has created new “old houses” as well as the occasional urban plan or ecclesiastical space. He has worked in South Carolina, Florida, and the Washington, D.C. area, which has been his home since 2006. Erich initially arrived at BVA in 2013 and enjoys working with the tight-knit BarnesVanze team.
