Hannah Myers AIA
Often finding herself undertaking various design projects around her home, becoming an architect was an inevitable channel for Hannah’s creativity. Originally from Southwest Michigan, she attended Judson University (B.A. in Architecture) and the University of Notre Dame where she earned master’s degrees in both Architecture and Urban Design. Drawn to Washington, D.C. for its classical architecture and pedestrian-friendly urban scale, Hannah has been with BarnesVanze since 2013. She works primarily on residential projects and embraces the opportunity to use her urban design skills on larger development projects. Making the built environment more beautiful and useful at every scale is her constant objective — from the specificity of residential trim work and moulding details, to the planning of city blocks and public spaces. The extraordinary camaraderie of the BVA studio makes her work all the more rewarding. Hannah is a member of the ICAA, CNU, and AIA. A board member of the ICAA Washington Mid-Atlantic chapter, she serves as chair of the chapter’s young professionals’ group, the L’Enfants, and is an instructor and teaching assistant for the ICAA. She enjoys participating in BVA’s volunteer activities with Architecture in the Schools, Design in Action, and especially CANstruction. When not in the office, you can find her setting new personal records at the gym while binging true crime podcasts.
