Michael S. Meszaros, AIA
License held: DC
Michael grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where the rich residential architectural tradition from the early twentieth century made a deep impression on him. He studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame (B. Arch and Master of Architectural Design & Urbanism) and found further inspiration in his year abroad in Rome, where he developed his love for Italian Renaissance architecture and his appreciation for beauty in everyday surroundings. Michael has a keen interest in sacred architecture and spent seven years at McCrery Architects working on a range of church projects. In 2018, Michael joined BarnesVanze to help design the firm’s church and institutional commissions, which combine the aesthetic level of detail of custom residential work with the rigor of commercial building practices.
Michael has always enjoyed the process of hand drawing and rendering, and his commitment to classical and traditional architecture continues to inform his design work, for both residential and commercial clients. Michael is a licensed architect in the District of Columbia and a member of the ICAA.
