William J. Steinbrecher III, ASSOCIATE AIA

Raised in Southampton, New York, William found inspiration in the coastal, colonial, and shingle-style buildings that define the character of the Hamptons. With an architect father, William was exposed to many aspects of the profession at an early age and has since developed his unique perspective as a designer. While at the University of Notre Dame (B. Arch), he concentrated in Historic Preservation and Restoration, which has allowed him to deepen his appreciation for traditional architecture and building practices. William focused primarily on residential studios while in school, which explored social equity and affordable housing. He served as class representative in the Undergraduate Studies Committee having worked with fellow students to create a new organization that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusivity in the profession of architecture.

William enjoys integrating the artistic and technical aspects of design, which he feels helps create harmony between the built world and the natural environment. He utilizes both analog and digital design techniques, which allows him to understand projects comprehensively. He believes that this is the key to creating sustainable and lasting buildings that will bolster the unique identities of the communities in which he works.
