Sydney Davenport Katz RA, LEED AP
License held: MD
A Washington, D.C. native, Sydney grew up wanting to redesign her childhood homes. Before heading to college at the University of Southern California, School of Architecture, she met Steve Vanze, who checked in on her progress over the course of her studies. Sydney first began at BVA with a summer internship. Upon completing her Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2007, she came home to D.C. and continued her career at BarnesVanze. Flourishing in and contributing to the collaborative spirit that is BVA, Sydney enjoys team-building through the entire architectural process, with co-workers, clients, consultants, and contractors. Outside the office, Sydney can be found at the pottery wheel, is an avid yogi, and is active in her community of Takoma Park, Maryland. She is a member of the ICAA and volunteers with the Washington Architectural Foundation.
