Wayne R. Adams

PRINCIPAL

Wayne joined BarnesVanze in 2011 as a senior designer and was named Principal in 2018. He attributes his enthusiasm for architecture to his early experiences traveling around the world with his family, which made a lasting impact on his career. Originally from Pittsburgh, he attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C., the Boston Architectural Center (B.A.), and the University of Syracuse in Florence, Italy (M. Arch). While living in Boston, Wayne was a studio instructor at the Boston Architectural Center. Today, Wayne enjoys problem-solving and hand drawing; learning about evolving technologies and new materials, he appreciates the precision required of highly functioning design. In his words, “I value collaborating with tradesmen, artisans and builders to create buildings that exceed our clients’ expectations.”

With over 30 years of experience, he is honored to contribute to the well-established legacy of BVA as a firm leader while designing handsome, structurally efficient, and useful architecture for his clients. Wayne considers himself to be a mentor to young practitioners, and he aims to guide the next generation of designers as they navigate the ever-changing field of architecture. Wayne is active in the Design Leadership Network.
