Modern English Country Home

BVA created this modern country home by connecting the new home to an existing log cabin with a glass “link.” The interior finishes include roughhewn lumber beams and stone and wood floors inspired by the restored cabin itself. Advanced exterior wall design provides climate, moisture, and energy protection, as well as sophisticated high-tech sound and computer technologies, which are seamless with the traditional details of the home.

After years of living in the home, the owners expanded their dreams into the landscape. Seated at a pleasant distance and aligned with the front door, BVA designed a dining pavilion and greenhouse — two nearly identical structures that offer a delightful visual focus and destination, connecting the modern country home to the actual country.
